This workspace is located at 212 N Jefferson St in Milwaukee, WI. Highlighted in the surrounding areas is the type of traffic and circulation around the site.
This building acts as an office share, and offers start-ups with an office incubator for a variety of service-based businesses. It consists of a ground floor as well as three upper levels and an atrium, which extends vertically to each floor. Two staircases, both east and west, along with a central elevator, provide easy access to the upper levels which consist of private offices, individual desks, and shared roaming workspaces.
The intent of this design is to create a contemporary, soothing yet stimulating work environment for all users of this space. Because the surrounding areas of Milwaukee contain heavy traffic flow, the intent is to create a contrast to this with a more tranquil workplace. The plan is to use curved architectural features, lighting fixtures, and furniture pieces as a way to mimic characteristics of water: one of the most calming elements. This is also achieved through the use of blues and other cool neutral tones.
This palette highlights the main colors and materials used throughout the spaces.
